Day 7

Walking… My dad works for the society of the protection of New Hampshire forests, in this job he does a lot of hiking on various properties. Today he woke me up at 6:30 and asked me if I was willing to hike a property with him for the day to add to my conditioning for my project. I agreed and we left. What he forgot to tell me was the elevation gain of this hike. While I am not sure of the exact numbers. It was insane. Although the hike was horrible and a lot of walking, the pond we met at the end was beautiful and really was worth the 6 hours of walking straight up and down. We made it home at 2:00 and I rested for the rest of the day.

                                                                      Day 11 Practice marathon… Today I woke up and decided to do a sort of practice marathon, 7 miles in the morning and 7 miles in the afternoon with a break in between. Week 2 reflection

  I did not state in the first week the importance of music when it came to my project. Music has been a staple in my life for the past few years and I am almost always listening to music. Whether it's classical or rap, I will always listen to music depending on what I am doing or what mood I am in. At first, I was unaware of the importance of music when it came to running. I would start running but couldn't help but notice something lacking, I didn't know whether or not it was motivation, sleep or food. That was until the 4th day I brought my apple watch and airpods on my run and the impact was crazy. I remember I was listening to X-wing by Denzel Curry and I hit my first runners high.   Weekly Reflection This was a great first week of senior project. It started off a little difficult but is getting easier everyday. I learned quite a bit this first week. Firstly, I learned the importance of a good diet when training for a half marathon. The best diet for training includes a lot of lean protein and healthy fats such as nuts and fish. Another thing I learned was the importance of consistency, as I stayed consistent throughout this first week it only got easier everyday and made motivating myself to keep running a lot easier. Lastly, I learned the importance of sleep, to keep myself motivated, my sleep was extremely important. The days I would get 8-10 hours of sleep it would be much easier to stay motivated to run and while running I would feel way more energized. I enjoy running sometimes.
